The new Luci — coming August 25

Ever wonder why some weeks feel heavier than others?

Luci is a mood tracker and journal that connects what you do, who you're with and how you feel — so the patterns stop being invisible.

Pattern discovery

The part where you start to understand yourselfNew — Aug 25

Log how you feel, then tag what was around it — the people, the places, the things you did. Luci lines those up across weeks and shows you what keeps turning up next to your best and worst days.

1You log

A mood log in Luci: emotion chips such as Distrust, Failure and Optimism above an Activities list, with Family and Dancing ticked.

A mood, plus who you were with and what you were doing. It takes seconds, and it's the only thing Luci asks of you.

2Luci connects

Luci's stats screen for the month, showing that Dancing lifts this person's mood by 0.9 and being at Home by 0.5.

The same tags, followed across every entry you've made, until something you'd never have spotted on your own starts to stand out.

"Late nights turn up on eight of your ten lowest-rated days."

An example of the kind of connection Luci surfaces. Yours will look nothing like it — that's rather the point.

Year in Pixels

Your whole year, in one look

365 squares, one for each day, coloured by how you felt. Seasons show up. Rough patches show up. So do the long, quiet stretches where things were simply fine — the ones you'd never remember otherwise.

A full Year in Pixels grid: twelve rows, one per month, every day a small square coloured from brown for rough days to bright cyan for great ones.

Guided journal prompts

Never stare at a blank page againNew — Aug 25

Over 300 questions worth sitting with, grouped by topic. Answer one in a minute or write for twenty — either way, you start somewhere other than nowhere.

  • Stress
  • Relationships
  • Self-compassion
  • Mindfulness
  • Motivation
  • Grief

Skip the ones that don't land. Come back to the ones that do. Luci keeps your answers, so in six months you can read them again and see how differently you'd answer now.

Mood logging

A log takes about ten secondsNew — Aug 25

Drag the slider, tap what was going on, done. Numbers or smileys, whichever suits you. Log once a day or five times — Luci works out the averages.

  • ~10sto log a mood
  • As often as you likemultiple entries a day
  • Apple Watchlog without your phone

On Apple Watch it's a raise of the wrist and a drag — the quickest way to catch a mood before it's gone. Activities, emotions and your recent average are all there too.

Stats & trends

What's been shaping your month

See which activities, people and places sit alongside your highest and lowest days — this month, this year, or across everything you've ever logged.

The longer you use Luci, the more there is to see. A month tells you about a month. A few years tell you about you.

Two Luci stats screens side by side: a mood trend line across the month, and a Steadiness card reading Stable above a Period in Pixels grid.

Private by default

Yours, and only yours

A journal is only worth keeping if you trust where it lives. Luci keeps yours on your phone, works with no connection at all, and syncs only if you tell it to.

Line drawing of an iPad, an iPhone, an Android phone and an Apple Watch strung together by a dotted gradient line, showing Luci syncing between them.
  • Works fully offline

Every entry is written and stored on your phone. No signal, no wifi, no problem — Luci works the same on a plane as it does at home.

  • Sync only if you want it

Leave it off and nothing ever leaves your device. Switch it on and your journal follows you to iPhone, iPad, Android and Apple Watch, encrypted in transit and at rest.

  • Safe when you switch phones

Your entries ride along in your phone's own backup, so a new device picks up exactly where the old one left off.

  • Never sold. Never shared. Never training data.

Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to an AI model. Your journal is not our inventory.

  • Locked to your face or fingerprint

Switch on biometric lock and Luci won't open for anyone but you.

  • Export whenever you want

Take everything with you as a PDF, any time. Nothing is held hostage.
